Spring Essentials for Wellness

Sprint into wellness with my spring essentials, Coach Calie Calabrese

The transition from winter to spring can be tough on the body. After being bombarded with winter threats for months we come full speed into spring and all the pollen and irritants that come with it. Our bodies are already taxed from all the garbage they have to process out from our food, our skin care products, our medicines, pollution and more. Then we get hit with a new barrage of seasonal threats and naturally we feel it!

So how can we give our bodies extra support to handle all of this? Yesterday, we talked about eating seasonally. The produce that grows this time of year is great for helping the body to gently cleanse making more room for it to deal with new seasonal threats. Nature actually offers a lot of great support to our bodies that help us feel less taxed and tired and more comfortable this time of year. Here are some spring essentials that offer your body some much needed support during this transition.

My Spring Essentials:

  • Roasted Dandelion Root Tea - Supports your body's natural detoxification process by helping your body break down fats during digestion and carry away waste. Supports the liver, an important organ in the cleansing process.

  • Nettle tea with a drop of peppermint essential oil - Nettle stimulates the lymph system and supports the kidneys. Studies have shown it is effective in helping to reduce symptoms of rhinitis and allergies.

  • Apple Cider Vinegar - It's believed that apple cider vinegar can help reduce mucous production and support the lymphatic system in its cleansing efforts. It does NOT taste good so I like to mix it with 1 teaspoon with a little water and shoot it like a shot. Make sure you are using unfiltered apple cider vinegar with "the mother" included.

  • Probiotics - Allergies are the result of an imbalance in the immune system. Probiotics help balance the health of our gut bacteria, which is a great way to support the immune system and can play a significant role in enhancing overall wellness.

  • Lemon Essential Oil - Naturally cleanses the body and aids in digestion. Supports healthy respiratory function. Cleanses and purifies the air and surfaces.

  • Lavender Essential Oil - Most noted for its calming and relaxing qualities. Soothes occasional skin irritations. Promotes a restful nights sleep.

  • Peppermint Essential Oil - Promotes healthy respiratory function and clear breathing.

  • Melaleuca Essential Oil - Renowned for its cleansing and purifying effects. Promotes healthy immune function. Protects against environmental and seasonal threats.

  • Respiratory Blend - Maintains feelings of clear airways and easy breathing. Promotes a restful nights sleep. Helps minimize the effects of seasonal threats.

*Not all essential oils are created equally. If you'd like to learn more about using and choosing a safe and quality essential oil message me here

Also, consider adding dry brushing to your weekly self-care routine to support a healthy lymphatic system. If you find yourself really struggling with seasonal symptoms, some changes to your diet just might be the final key to giving your body the support it needs. I encourage you to try eliminating dairy from your diet this spring and see how your body responds. We'll talk more this week about dietary changes that can support your body in enhanced wellness and help you feel great this spring!
